WP1: Biomarker identification
The goal of WP1 is to integrate existing –omics data for identification of pathways and candidate biomarkers for differential dementia diagnosis. For selection, we performed data integration of existing datasets of protein expression in CSF or blood of dementia patients and controls. MIRIADE focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies.
The workflow to identify these biomarkers can be found at the dedicated GitLab repository.
Dementia Disease Map (DM)
Click here to access the current version of the Dementia Disease Map via the MINERVA platform for advanced navigation, zooming and visualisation.
A comprehensive representation of disease mechanisms at the level of molecular processes was developed based on: i) pathways from literature and reliable pathway databases with dementia customization; ii) consensus view by experts to ensure representation of disease hallmarks; iii) inputs from text mining and databases of molecular interactions to complete the reconstruction of mechanisms. The Dementia Disease Map was developed in CellDesigner in the standard Systems Biology Graphical Notation using previously established protocols.
The map features 737 elements connected by 670 interactions, supported by evidence from 386 scientific articles.
